The Benefits

Laser marking is a high-speed, non-contact process that uses a focused laser source to slowly heat or quickly vaporize materials. Our systems can use vector drawings or raster images to mark almost any pattern onto your parts including text, custom graphics, barcodes and 2D data matrices. Unlike traditional marking processes, laser marking doesn’t require masks, inks or custom machining bits—reducing operating costs and changeover time between parts and designs.

Accufab has both Fiber engravers as well as CO2 Engravers.  This gives us the ability to mark both metallic and non-metallic products.  

Whether you require a surface or an engraved mark, our machines can be equipped with any laser wavelength to process a wide variety of metals—from aluminum and zinc, to highly reflective metals like gold and copper.

Laser marking plastic components offers a permanent solution by photochemically altering the surface of the plastic. Although, not all plastics are able to be marked without some type of additive like titanium dioxide.

Laser marking glass is a common technique used in the automotive and glassware industries, as well as many others. This process is typically done with either a CO2 or UV laser.

Wood cutting and engraving are two of the most popular applications for the laser because they can encompass so many different projects. From cabinetry to photo frames to knife handles, Epilog Laser systems are used in almost every woodworking category you will run across. Whether you are working with hardwoods, veneers, inlays, mdf, plywood, walnut, alder, or cherry, you can engrave amazingly intricate images with a laser system.

Slate produces a very nice contrast when engraved, which makes it a very popular substrate for etching. These custom slate cheese boards are a fun and festive addition to any party or gathering.

The process of engraving or etching leather results in a debossed effect and, depending on the surface of the leather, produces a noticeable and clean contrast. Light-colored leathers produce significant color contrast, whereas engraving darker leathers results in a more subtle contrast. If you need a dynamic color contrast, go with a tan, beige, or light brown leather.
